    Dealer Notes

This 2017 BMW M3 Base is a four-door performance sedan built around a straightforward mix of chassis hardware, driver-focused controls, and everyday equipment. It uses the M3 formula of a compact body, rear-wheel-drive dynamics, and a turbocharged inline-six that provides strong output across a wide band of speeds. The suspension tuning is firm and precise, with responses intended to keep body motion controlled during aggressive driving while still remaining usable on normal roads. Steering effort is direct, and the brakes are sized for repeated hard use. The exterior design follows BMW's mid-2010s M division styling, with familiar proportions, flared bodywork, and an aerodynamically shaped front end. The cabin is arranged with a low driving position, clear forward sightlines, and primary controls placed within easy reach. Materials reflect the model's segment, with a focus on supportive seating, durable switchgear, and a layout that prioritizes the driver.

Inside, this car is equipped with Leather Seats, which add a finished surface to the seating areas and door-contact points. The front seats are shaped to hold occupants in place during spirited driving, while still offering the adjustments expected in a premium sport sedan. Rear seating is present as part of the four-door body style, and the cabin provides the sort of room typically associated with this class rather than a larger executive car. Trim pieces and panel fit are consistent with BMW's approach to interior assembly, with a restrained design and a relatively low amount of visual clutter. The instrument cluster is arranged for quick reading, and the center stack places the main audio and climate functions within a compact reach zone. Storage spaces are modest but practical, with cupholders, door pockets, and small bins integrated into the interior. The seating surfaces and surrounding materials give the cabin a more finished feel than a basic performance model, while still keeping the focus on the controls and the driving position.

This M3 also includes Premium Audio, Navigation, Bluetooth, and Automatic Climate Control. The sound system is integrated into the dashboard and supports higher-quality playback than the standard setup, with controls accessible through the central interface. The navigation function is built into the vehicle's electronics and appears through the main display, where route guidance and map information can be accessed without relying on a separate device. Bluetooth connectivity allows compatible phones to pair with the vehicle's communication system, which provides wireless use of supported functions through the factory interface. Automatic Climate Control manages cabin temperature through electronic adjustment rather than manual changes alone, and its controls are positioned for quick operation from the driver's seat. These features work together with the rest of the cabin technology in a manner typical of BMW's mid-cycle performance models, where the electronics are integrated rather than layered on as separate add-ons. The dashboard design keeps the available information and settings organized, with a layout that does not require unnecessary movement between menus for basic use.

This vehicle also has Xenon Headlights, which provide the lighting equipment fitted to the front end rather than a simpler halogen arrangement. The headlamp housings are integrated into the car's styling and use the sharper, more focused appearance associated with that lighting type. Outside, the body panels, mirrors, and window line follow the M3's familiar shape, and the sedan profile leaves access to the rear seats and trunk through conventional openings. The car's performance character is supported by the combination of chassis tuning, engine output, and transmission behavior, which together make it suitable for commuting, highway travel, and more demanding driving when desired. Road noise, ride firmness, and seating support are consistent with a machine built around handling capability first, while still retaining the equipment expected in a well-specified luxury sport sedan. The details included here define the vehicle's presentation and equipment without relying on additional claims, and the result is a 2017 BMW M3 Base with the features listed above in place.

Styling: Wolf in sheep’s clothing...only car buffs recognize it, but if left stock is classy enough that valet will park it in front of a 5 star hotel. Performance: The COMP PKG is a blast to drive! Lots of torque and power that will land you in jail in Sport+ mode. Comfort: Absolutely a daily driver and good enough for the track on weekends. If you do that, I suggest replacing brake pads with aftermarket racing pads. Overall: Best performance car for the price!…
    • Great true M car M3

I have had mine for 2 years and only put 5K miles on it. It runs and looks as new. I put a race chip in it - don't know if it gives me the full boost the manufacturer claims. But this car is fun, fast and handles well. The interior is very nicely done and the seats are cool. It has great pick-up in all ranges and speeds. It is very confident doing 90 in a 40 mph zone. The ride is a bit harsh over bumpy pavement like we have here in DC, but it feels very sporty. It's hard to justify a porsche when you can have all this for so much less. I have had nearly a dozen BMws and this is my favorite so far for having sick fun.…
